Hong Kong billionaire invested 40 million dollars into Facebook

The head of telecommunications company Hutchison Whampoa Li Ka-Shing invested 40 million dollars into a social network Facebook, TechCrunch informs.


Before Microsoft invested 240 million dollars into Facebook. Other investors of the social network include brothers Samwer that made a fortune from the sale of Jamba company that specialized in ringtones sales. The management of the Facebook social network estimates the portal 10 billion dollars minimum.

Sony-BMG will offer a music buffet for the internet users

The head of the sound-recording label Sony-BMG Rolph Schmidt-Holtz announced possible subscription for the music that can be implemented in 2008. This model is analogous to a buffet, when for a comparatively small amount of money the client gets the possibility of unlimited consumption.

Internet users will get access to all the music of Sony-BMG for 9-12 dollars a month and will be able to download it to any MP3-players, including iPod. He also noted that if subscription is discontinued this will leave all users without access to all the songs.

Yahoo! made friends with Google basing on social networks

Yahoo! search engine announced that it would support the platform OpenSocial, developed by Google that allows to the developers to create applications that work in several social networks.
