The head of the sound-recording label Sony-BMG Rolph Schmidt-Holtz announced possible subscription for the music that can be implemented in 2008. This model is analogous to a buffet, when for a comparatively small amount of money the client gets the possibility of unlimited consumption.

Internet users will get access to all the music of Sony-BMG for 9-12 dollars a month and will be able to download it to any MP3-players, including iPod. He also noted that if subscription is discontinued this will leave all users without access to all the songs.
